You are on the right track! The difference between zero and one is infinite, so if you can continue to stay at "zero" you will not fall into the trap of "just one puff" 0r "just one cigarette" that eventually goes back to a pack or more every day. Good job!

Hi
I am in day 5 today and I never smoke any cigarettes. I am always thinking of taking one every time I feel like smoking but I am following my heart not to take any cigarettes.
Am I on the right track to quit?

Thank you so much for commenting on my day 4 post....I'm now on day 21 or I can also say 3 weeks...Things are going well for me as I am no longer having agonizing cravings. I still want a cigarette but also know how to deal with the triggers that come and go each day which makes it easier and I can ignore them better too! I do know one thing though. Being at the gym is much easier when it comes to breathing easier...wow! that's what keeps me from smoking just one cigarette....

I wanted to stop by here and tell you to fight the craving and continue on not smoking!! Just know every day that goes by you will be more proud of yourself and anytime your mind tries to make you think how nice a cigarette would be tell your mind "liar"!! once you say liar out loud get you mind off of it and you will then be ok....good luck!!

Day 4 and it sucks! Today was harder then day 1,2 & day 3 wasn't a picnic and feels more like a day 4...Anyway, as soon as my mind thinks how nice it would be to get a hit I immediately say out loud "liar"!! That's a lie!

Once I say that out loud and quit thinking about the fantasy I am past the craving....Quitting smoking sucks but you have to hang in there to reap the benefits you will experience but ya have to hold on!!

Hey,
I quit smoking at 10pm last night September 29, 2021.
Its been 16 hours 59 minutes! I feel ashamed of the way I smell after I smoke. Breath, hands, clothes. My grandchildren and my children have asked me to stop. I have been feeling the need to quit smoking for weeks. I'm not sure why. My inner self is telling me to quit. I love a cig after a great meal! I love a cig while I'm drinking a nice glass of red wine... or if I have a problem...it seems to make me smarter in that 5 minute cig time. Hahaha.
I have to quit for myself..... I must put my own oxygen mask.
I feel I'm up for the challenge!!!!
